I'm starting to get agitated by this. Why is Dengeki Hobby so much cooler than Hobby Japan? FA MG Unicorn vs. Armoured Messiah? I know which one I'd rather see. Seriously... that FA Unicorn has got to be one of the coolest models I've seen in a long time.
Don't get me wrong I love the Armoured Messiah as well but... I just feel that Dengeki Hobby is a better magazine. Higher caliber of models and execution, better photos...
Did I get a subscrition to the wrong magazine? It certainly is looking that way. I do like the Gunpura LOVE sections in Hobby Japan though. And the FIX lineart posters... Oh well. Maybe I should have just gotten a subscription to both of them!
just be lucky you can get them easily =(
ReplyDeletei have trouble finding them in my area T^T
*sniff* i don't know if i can find the XN raiser issue TwT
I believe you've posted this exact rant before... My suggestion would be to buy the Dengeki subscription. In my experience it's nicer.
ReplyDeleteFA Unicorn = *drool*
Thanks for the pics :)
Haha, yeah, at least you can get DH magazine locally, I have to order mine from HLJ and wait two weeks for it to arrive! AAnd by that time the next months is already out and I'm then a month behind in news!
ReplyDeleteHaving not bought Habby Japan before, my opinion is somewhat biased, but Dengeki is brilliant! Even not being able to read Japanese, the pictures are superb!
And "FA Unicorn = *drool*" coudn't agree more!
i think dengeki are genearlly better because of hobby japan has more of a connection with bandai and focuses more on there actual products, and dengeki does more mods to the gunpla and other mecha kits but thats only my opinion though
ReplyDeleteI definitely like Dengeki a little more because their gundam coverage are usually more attractive to me (a very subjective statement of course). Although I had been a fan of HJ for many years and still am. I say get both subscription...the more the merrier! =)
ReplyDeleteI usually get them at my local japanese bookstore, but for special edtions that comes with gunpla kit, they are always not shelfed in the US. hmmm I wondered if is was an inside job at the bookstore...
i need a unicon mg T.T

I guess I take a lot of things I can do in Japan for granted. But I still complain.
ReplyDeleteTonzo - yeah its probably not the first time I've said this and I'll probably say it again. I probably will go for a Dengeki Hobby Subscription in November when my HJ subscription expires.
G.G. - I agree with you. Dengeki's spreads seem to be a bit better.
Thanks for the responses folks. Glad to see I'm not alone and it was good to hear your reasons.
thank you. apparently i do have at least one woman reader! also... you'll be happy to know that i compost also haha. thanks for your comment.
