I saw it at my local hobby shop the other day and I had to resist the urge not to buy it. In fact when I saw it, I held the box in my hands, thought about it and was forced to put the box down and leave immediately because I do NOT want give in and pick up yet another model.

Anyone else out there feel like this? You really want to buy a model and you have the money but there's just so many other things you should be doing and blahblahblah. I really want to get this but... I keep telling myself that I can. Just not now. That's kind of the good thing about Gundam models. I can still probably get this a couple of years from now.

But still... It's hard sometimes. It's hard to stop.

One of the main things that I like about this model is it's proportions and it's design. It's not as radical as most of the other 00 designs but it still seems quite modern. I like the simple armament as well. Shield, gun, beam sabre. However I don't like the look of the vents/exhaust ports on the calves though. Other than that it's a perfect suit for me.

Oh well. Someday. But for now, discipline rules.

  1. well, last monday I bought HG Kaempfer and HG TR-5 Gaplant Hrairoo because they weren't availbele anywhere else and i paid about half the price... next day they both were gone and other model prices went sky-high so sometimes it's good to buy without thinkig too much.
As for the O Gudnam i actualy like those vents/thrusters on legs and prefer the grey version insted of normal gundam colors, well I also like G3 more than RX-78-2 so that's maybe why...

  2. Definitely know how you feel... sometimes I feel very tempted, even though it's not a priority or even maybe a model I really want to build. I think there's a feeling of "collection" and that satisfaction of buying "something"

I've been pretty lucky in that nothings caught my eye since the Astray. Will most likely pick up my first HG model though with the Hi-Nu Release though..

  3. same dilemma here, it actually work both ways.

Recently, every time I enter a hobby shop. The most recent struggle I had was deciding whether or not to get a 1/100 Exia. Fought back the impulse to buy it several times. Am glad I didn't cave it, with MG Exia now scheduled for Jul release.

Another one was with the OYW RX-78-2, wanted to buy it over at Taiwan Gundam Base since I could not find it in Singapore. But I didn't because of worrying of getting the wrong one and partly because of luggage space. Regretting it very much right now. :s

  4. My discipline completely gave out on me Saturday when I bought the MG Zaku II 2.0 Char Custom. Part of me doesn't regret it, part of me can think of better ways to spend what I spent on it...

  5. Hahaha. It's times like this where my only credit card is an extension of my parents' account that I'm easily restrained.

  6. I have no discipline whatsoever... LOL
Usually if I like it, I will buy it... yeah I am kinda spoiled. americansalaryman is right, the feeling of "collection" is very satisfying, but one the other hand I feel saturated from all the buy buy buy.

I remembered the good ol days when I have no $$ in college and couldn't afford buying gunpla/games/stuff. How nice it was to have that 'want' feeling, and the satisfaction of finally getting something.

Anyways... just get the 1/144 0 Gundam already. *evil smirk*

  7. I guess that applies to me too. And I lost the battle.

Same thing happened to me the other day. I had SD 00 Gundam already. When I saw the SD 00 Raiser and held the box in my hands, I almost bought it because that's part of the reason I went to the store. But then I decided better and leave without it. Guess what? I was back there in 2 days to grab it.

Damn, the temptation of a more complete 'collection' is too great...... T.T

  8. I generally can't help myself, but my back log is now at a point where I feel like buying new kits is pointless.

  9. aulon - yeah i know what you mean. i felt like that after i saw all the sinanju bazookas and then when i went back for them they were all gone... also i prefer the g3 version as well :)

ASM - i think i get what you're saying. i feel like i want to collect them too but i dont really have the space! and i do enjoy the feeling of buying a new 'toy'. haha who doesnt right? i remember you were thinking about getting the HG Hi Nu. Actually so was i! thinking of doing the same thing as you and building it for my desk at work. i already have enough here though.

jaques - i felt like that with the Special edition Musha gundam. i'm glad I didnt buy it right away because the new one seems much better!

g.g. - you are an evil man! haha

chris - that is a tough call there. I dont think i could have done that. I dont like buying the same model even if they're completely different grades!

    tonzo - my sentiments exactly.

  10. I succumbed yesterday and bought the MG Lucas Strike + IWSP. I do regret paying the money, but don't regret having something to build.

  11. ah! i really wanted that one too!

  12. May I ask why Lucas' over regular? I've wanted the Strike E + IWSP for a minute now and always preferred it over Lucas'...

  13. I feel like that all the time... =( HGUC Nu and Sazabi are practically screaming my name in to a megaphone right now.

  14. mm... Tonzo i just think the strike e is a better design (outside of the face plate and shoulder armour) and better weapons. it got rid of those knives for the beam pistols and got the new rocket anchors. basically put the strikes shoulders and face plate on the strike e's body and id be hoppy. i dont really like the strike e's cat face/whiskers.
