Seems like I'm moving all the time. I can't give these guys a decent home but I can't give them away either. Right now most of them are in storage. I consolidated everything though... took a proper inventory of what I have. I had to throw some things away which sucked but that's life. You can't hold on to everything.
I got rid of a lot of boxes and box art that I'd saved.
Here's an idea of the packing process.

ANA Unicorn Gundam
Another late post but one made in the interest of thoroughness. I did finish the ANA Unicorn Gundam some time ago but I don't think I ever got around to posting pics of it here. The full gallery can be found at the links at the bottom of any of the photos.
Beautiful kit. So glad I managed to get my hands on one! Definitely one of the high points of my collection.

Proportions / Anatomy
MatX posted a very interesting article on his blog and I'm glad I read it.
As someone who's also dabbled in comic book art myself I'm very familiar with "anatomy" and "proportion" study. I mean my other blog is almost all about anatomy.
It may not be totally relevant to a lot of you but we do throw around words like; "posability" (which may or may not be a real word but I advocate that it should be henceforth) "proportion" and "articulation" in this hobby and a lot of that stems from our intuitive understanding of human anatomy.
Gundams are made in humans image (obviously) and it's hard to not notice that. It might be one of the reasons why we like them so much. Or why some prefer more non-humanoid, monster like mechs.
I guess that might be why I like the Nobel Gundam so much. I always think of my Gundams as having "personalities" of their own after I build them but the Nobel Gundam's design allows it a certain level of "expression" that other Gundams just don't have. It's for this reason that I will probably continue to feature her in many pictures for this blog. She's just the best communicator in her class (1/144).
MatX showed a good example of why we want better proportions in our mechs (at least in Gundams) occasionally. It actually affects the type of poses you can do with them.

Gundam Unicorn OVA 3 - Preview
Looks great and I'm really looking forward to this... but you know what really got my attention is the fact that the Gaza units are still around plus one of my favourite mechs ever makes in appearance 10 seconds in. If they make a new HG version of it I'm getting it for sure. I love the fact that they can put all these old school mechs in and make them look so amazing! The Gaza and Dreissen have never looked so good! Not to mention the GM III's that appeared in Episode 2. Lovely stuff. I wonder what other surprise cameos we'll see as the series progresses.

GFF Metal Composite Unicorn
It comes with the FA version parts? This looks like the thing to get gents! Check out the comparison with the MG version. Almost the same thing! Actually I bet you can't tell which is which? Is the one with the bazooka the MG version? Or vice versa?
Plus you get the 2x gattling guns!
... Possibly another thing I can't afford to pass up. Just one question. Can YOU?!

I know you want more so here it is.

New Unicorn HD + Cage Box Art

Yeah... That's a lot of heat. In more ways than one. Wow.
I can see why a lot of you would say that this one is better but I'm really split between the two of them. This one looks almost TOO powerful! Love how it's coming out of the flames like that though. Man why don't they sell posters of this stuff?!

New Unicorn Movie Promo Video

Ngee said he couldn't watch it. Probably because of him not being in Japan (JP programmers are shady like that, banning non JP IP addresses. Legal reasons I think.)
Video can be viewed here and here.
The above pic is a screen shot I took of it. This movie is shaping up to be pretty good but why can't we see even one shot of the Sinanju in it?! Surely they'll put it in the movie! Right?!
Anyway my favourite parts of this clip were seeing the Stark Jegan get destroyed, the ReZel launching and fighting and the Loto transforming.
Did anyone notice the link between the Loto design and the F-50D Guntank R-44 used in F91? Fits the time line and the design tree... Different colour scheme though. I only saw F91 a couple of weeks ago and I noticed the connection right away.
Generally I don't watch JP movies in the theater (even the Zeta re-releases) but I'll make an exception for this one.

Unicorn Display Base
Remember how I said that I might not even open the box? Well, that didn't happen.
Unicorn Mode actually has eyes! My first time to see it so clearly. Similar to the Sinaju it's really hard to see the eye/s of this MS in Unicorn Mode. I wonder why they made both of the main mobile suits like that?
The transformation sequence of this base is not that difficult to do and both heads look equally nice to me, however the Destroy Mode version edges it out a bit because the Unicorn Mode's 'horn' isn't a solid one piece unit and looks a bit unsightly to me at times. I can now really appreciate the design of this MS. It really is a piece of art. As I don't have the MG version to compare it to I can't say what's different and what's the same but I now have a new level of respect for the design.
Not sure what 1/144 suit I can put on this thing but I like having the 1/48 Unicorn head by itself. Not sure when or if I'm going to paint it but I probably will someday. I'd say it's worth the money! The magazine it comes with isn't bad either! Now that my Hobby Japan subscribtion has run out (it's been a year already!) I'm free to buy more Dengeki Hobby's which in my opinion is a superior magazing for people who like Gunpura primarily and not stuff like... Queen's Blade. Not that there's anything wrong with Queen's Blade but I'm just saying... I'm buying the magazine for Gundam, not for... uh... well... yeah.
I like how Dengeki Hobby now starts with the months important hobby news. It's a nice little difference between it and Hobby Japan. One amongst many. The calibre of modeling is better too imo. Can't believe I'm saying this... but I'm glad to be free of my subscribtion to Hobby Japan. Good magazine but Dengeki is just plain better.

Gundam Unicorn w/ Beam Gatling Gun and Blue Decals
Advertised on Gundam Ace, Kadokawa is set to release a limited edition version of Gundam Unicorn Volume 4. The limited edition novel version will come with Beam Gatling Gun, which can be attached to the upcoming MG Unicorn Gundam ver Ka. The limited edition verion comes out on April 26, 2008 priced at 1260 yen.
I know a lot of you out there have the Unicorn but I don't yet so please excuse me if I say something incorrect. All the pics I've seen of the Unicorn show it with red decals but this pic has blue ones. Do blue ones come with the kit? I quite like the blue decals on the regular Unicorn. Seems to fit. But the red decals definitely fit the Destroy mode Unicorn more then the blue ones.
