MS-07H8 Gouf Flight Type

There are many things in life that people can be addicted to.
Booze, gambling, sex, food, drugs, cigarettes... The list is endless. I have many vices and am addicted for more than a few things.
One of those things is gunpura. I just can't stop myself from building a new one from time to time simply for the sake of building a new gunpura. I didn't do anything special. Just cut and assemble... but I tell you... seeing that assembled model, even without paint and touch ups, panel lining or seam lining or whatever... just seeing it, making and having it around is worth the 800 yen or so I paid for it.
I am addicted to gunpura and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.

It doesn't come with that cannon in the right hand. I added that in myself.

A finshed version (check his WIP here.)

Just a pic of it that I liked.

As I was making this post, I saw the above pic and this song popped into my head.
I'll put this one here for Tonzo.

Related track from the same era. For all the lurking 'heads' out there.

Basement beats with hard rhymes... the good old days I guess.

Not planning on doing too much with Gouf right now. Just wanted to build something. This is my first non-Fed 1/144 kit and I have to say that I like it a lot. The Zeon designs just seem so much more... robust than the Fed suits. I'm going to enjoy working on this kit when the time comes. I've already kind of decided what I want to do with it but more on that at a later date. Right now I'm just going to leave it as is and go back to working on other things.

MS-07 H8 Gouf Flight Type

I am weak.
I couldn't resist! It was only 750 yen and I'd never seen it before and I didn't know that it even existed and that there was a seperate HG line for 08th Team designs and and and...
The truth is that I saw it last week and thought that it was cool but I left it alone. I went back this week (for something unrelated to Gundams) and it was gone! I was looking around for it and found it shoved on a bottom shelf somewhere... Someone was trying to hide it! And there was only one... So I bought it! I couldn't let it slip through my fingers! I mean if I'd never seen it before in all the time that I've been looking at models and someone went through the trouble of hiding it... It must be rare... And finally there was the fact that I've always thought that the Gouf Flight Type was cool. So a bunch of factors said... "Do it. Just do it."
And I did.
Now I have it... but what am I going to do with it? And more importantly... WHEN am I going to do it?

MG Gouf ver. 2.0

Courtesy of SRW Hotnews.
I personally am pleased to see this as I'm a big fan of the Gouf. I can only imagine how cool some of the mods and custom schemes are going to look for this one. It's going to be a real sight after the pro's get through with it and I for one am looking forward to it. Like all the different Zaku's that Bandai released with the ver. 2.0 frame I do hope that they pursue a similar approach the Gouf and all of it's variations. Particularly the MS-07H8 Gouf Flight Type. I know it sounds strange to say that I actually want to see more re-hashed kits from Bandai... but I think I've just accepted the reality of the situation. We all know they're going to try and milk this for everything it's worth. I'm just saying this time I won't be so disappointed. Perhaps a MG Dom ver. 2.0 before the end of the year? Stranger things have happened!
Due for release in May.

Rudolf's Gouf Ignited & MWF-JG71 Raysta

From the Gundam Seed Frame Astrays manga. This was actually the first time that I've ever seen the Raysta (nice anagram eh) as I've never read the manga. I liked how it incorporated a lot of the Astray design but there was still enough to keep it unique. Almost like what the EZ8 is to the RX-79G. I also liked how this Gouf has the original colours for it's right arm. Almost as if the original arm was blown off and had to be replaced by this one (which very well might have happened in the story since I haven't read it). The Raysta is a scratch build whereas this Gouf kit is a HG 1/144 that's already been released. It was actually the first Frame Astray's kit that I'd ever seen. Don't know if there are any others yet. I hope more will come out because I think the designs are great except for the 3rd Blue Astray suit. Not a big fan of that one but maybe it'll grow on me.
