Sinanju "Ver.Ka" Poster

Trying to scan these things and I want a proper archive of them here.  Blogger won't let me upload the full file size (3200x2400) and re-sizes it down to 1600x1200.  I don't really want to keep them on my Flickr because access to that is temporary.  Oh well.  I'll think of something.

Last set of Gundam posters

Finally, we'll finish this poster run with FIX posters. These are ALL my personal favourites and I have difficulty choosing which one I like the best. The RX-78 got a special place in my room, along with the FA version. The "Hummingbird" is my desktop wallpaper at work.

Tamashii Nation 2009

I have returned from the Otaku Holy Land.

First I will start with Tamashi Nation 2009. What's that you say? Not sure what that is? Take a look here.

And you can also see an ad for it from an image in my previous post.

Now I initially heard about this when I was browsing this months Hobby Japan and I saw some really cool T-Shirts that use some of Katoki's GFF lineart. I wanted it immediately.

Looking in greater detail I noticed that the event was being held this weekend. Coincidentally the weekend I was planning on going to Tokyo to catch up with some old friends. So since I was in town why not stop by and check it out.

A lot of stuff was sold out by the time I got there and I didnt' get a chance to see all of the exhibits unfortunately but I did get my T Shirts!

And the Psycho Gundam - Hong Kong Night ver. looks amazing! I'd love to see more Gundams with this reflective mirror/metal look. It was quite stunning.

While I was in town I decided to pick up a couple accessories. Things are so cheap in Akihabara... I'm still surprised. I bought a small stand for 1/144 models, a clear LED and a Kotobukiya weapon set that I'm planning to use with my GNX-III... someday.

Anyways, while I was browsing I came across a showcase of the actual models used in the Hobby Japan magazines! They look AMAZING in real life. The level of detail is shocking when you see them in person. Taking pictures of the displays is prohibited so sorry, I have nothing to show you. If you ask me, the real crime is NOT letting people take pictures of these works of art. It should be shared with everyone as far as I'm concerned. Oh well.

I like Akiba. It's a bit extreme for me though sometimes but it's better to have more options than less. Easy to go through money there though. Especially for folks like us. I've been going for about 6 years now and it's changed a lot over the years but... the parts that matter are still the same.

And now... It is time for me to spend a nice romantic evening with my PG Red Astray.

Red Warrior - Kyoshiro Maniax

My first one to take out and put up actually. I like it that much so I thought I'd share. But just for the record, I modified the contrast and colours a bit so it would show up clearer on the net. The poster's colours are a bit lighter than how it appears here.

I don't know much about Kyoshiro Maniax but apparently it's a manga that used re-designed U.C. suits in a kind of G Gundam type tournament fight thing for the younger audience. These designs only appeared in manga form but now Katoki Hajime has re-done the re-designs and has made GFF versions for some of them. I like how they look personally. Especially the FA Gundam. Red Warrior will be released this month for 5575 yen.

Time / Char's RX-78-2 GFF / Red Warrior

Well I just updated my G04 WIP (ultra minor one) and I'm starting to think that slow updates are the way to go. I wanted to keep my MG Impulse as a kind of a surprise and then reveal it all at once but the amount of pictures I've taken of that WIP is insane. It's going to take a while just to organize all of that stuff WHEN I completely finish it and AFTER I take the final pictures. Bleh. These things can really get away from you. Maybe it's just that I lack focus. On this. It is just a hobby after all. Slowly. There's just too much going on right now to focus totally on anything these days. And making Gunpura is kinda low down on the list. It does keep me out of trouble though. For some reason games seem to be creeping in a lot these days. I'm playing Homeworld AGAIN (this is the third time). and Mass Effect for the THIRD time as well. Why am I regressing to things that I've done multiple times already? hehe it still makes me happy though. And still almost as addicting as it was the first time I did it. Guess I have another 'addiction' to go along with the plamo one. And both are fighting for my attention.
In closing I leave you with a couple of pics taken by Danny Choo at an event he attended recently. This is the 2nd form of the upcoming Char's RX-78-2 Gundam FIX Figuration (GFF or just FIX to me), codenamed "Red Warrior". I LOVE this suit. Clearly designed for space combat (placement of the shoulder thrusters. Probably pretty maneuverable), massive bazooka. Love the extended knee armour, and the almost vertical V-Fin. The shield is a bit weird though. I doubt we're going to see any kit version of this suit so the FIX might be the only way to enjoy it. This may be the first FIX I buy!
