As for polishing/sanding... again, it depends on the type of high gloss you want. For the Markov, it was annoying, but necessary. It's something you need to try and see before dissing. I used to think 8000/10,000 grit was pointless too... until I used them. ;-)

Oh and I primed with flat black 99 cent walmart spraypaint. It's actually very nice paint, AND CHEAP! The flat, yes to dull the luster a bit.FichtenFoohttp://www.fichtenfoo.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6320371197539243411.post-18448971418168830652010-11-23T12:22:12.904-05:002010-11-23T12:22:12.904-05:00It's stuff like this that really set the pros ...It's stuff like this that really set the pros apart. I barely consider myself an adept. I've only begun experimenting with sanding for anything other than removing nubs and parting lines.

Polishing the paint looks like it could get complicated.CKai Cydeknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6320371197539243411.post-2120306567423376542010-11-23T09:51:36.657-05:002010-11-23T09:51:36.657-05:00LOL! god help me if i disappear into my own assho...LOL! god help me if i disappear into my own asshole! haha. i didnt realize there was even a point to sanding glossBusterbeamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09186008050580512545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6320371197539243411.post-90495579121842265842010-11-23T07:14:57.466-05:002010-11-23T07:14:57.466-05:00Metallics is all in the prep work homes. Think about it, what are you achieving by sanding gloss black up to 2000 grit? Not much more than you are with doing it to flat I imagine.Sonarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15896975513048660264noreply@blogger.com
